Pre-test: A Glimpse of Challenges

Pre-tests are used to check what part of the course should be given emphasis. That is for the teachers. As for the students, it gives us a clue about the content of the upcoming discussions. I was surprised to see familiar concepts in the subject Assessment 2. I thought that new topics will invade the subject.

I saw concepts like measurement, assessment, evaluation, mean, median, mode, and test. During our Assessment 1, I remembered that our professor always say that these terms are very important and these should not be neglected. Now, I know what he meant by that. Previous learning is significant because it will always have an impact and connect to new things. These are also our foundation in understanding more ideas regarding assessment.

I am acquainted with portfolio, rubric, affective assessment, performance-based and product-based assessments. I taught I knew them well but I was wrong. I have a lot to learn about them. I can’t even identify them with their meaning. I just know them in the surface level.
Although the test was recorded, I think that the terms, examples and situations remain on my mind. The pre-test made me curious and excited to take up the subject.
